The healing effect of fever has been known for many centuries. Whole body hyperthermia (WBH) is a new treatment using the well-known principle of fever in a therapeutic way. There are different ways of action:
- Fever to activate the immune system
- Heat as thermic damage of cancer tissue
- Moderate Whole Body Hyperthermia
This treatment mainly activates the immune system and is given when chemotherapy is not appropriate.
