Alternative Medicines for Cancer Care: Healing Hub Part Two
Presented: Wednesday 10 June 2026
Speaker: Dr. Graham Pinn
Series: CanSurvive Australia Healing Hub
Overview
Alternative medicine includes a wide range of traditional and complementary practices that many people find valuable alongside conventional cancer treatment. In this second session, Dr Pinn continues his exploration of the field, drawing on a lifetime of clinical experience to offer an evidence-informed introduction to these practices.
According to the Mayo Clinic, the goal of integrative medicine is to combine the best of conventional treatments with evidence-based complementary therapies. This approach, often referred to as complementary medicine in Australia, focuses on treating the whole person rather than just the disease.
Dr Pinn’s exposure to healing across the Pacific and Indian Oceans, the Middle East, and Maori and Aboriginal cultures gives him a uniquely global perspective on this integration. This series is suitable for:
-
Individuals currently navigating a cancer diagnosis.
-
Health professionals and carers looking to expand their holistic knowledge.
-
Anyone interested in the intersection of traditional and modern medicine.
