Alternative Medicines for Cancer Care: Healing Hub Part Two
Are you curious about how alternative medicine can support cancer care? Following the success of our first session, we invite you to join us for the second installment of this exclusive series. Please join us on Wednesday, 10th June 2026, at 10:30 AM AEST for our next Healing Hub session.
We welcome you to join us in person on the Sunshine Coast or participate online via Zoom from anywhere in the world.
About the Healing Hub Series
This special morning features Dr Graham Pinn (FRCP, FRACP, FACTM, MRNZCGP, DCH). Dr Pinn is a retired physician with 50 years of medical experience across many countries and cultures. This presentation is the second in a series of three talks on the subject of Alternative Medicines, developed exclusively for CanSurvive Australia.
What to Expect in Part Two
Alternative medicine includes a wide range of traditional and complementary practices that many people find valuable alongside conventional cancer treatment. In this second session, Dr Pinn continues his exploration of the field, drawing on a lifetime of clinical experience to offer an evidence-informed introduction to these practices.
According to the Mayo Clinic, the goal of integrative medicine is to combine the best of conventional treatments with evidence-based complementary therapies. This approach, often referred to as complementary medicine in Australia, focuses on treating the whole person rather than just the disease.
Dr Pinn’s exposure to healing across the Pacific and Indian Oceans, the Middle East, and Maori and Aboriginal cultures gives him a uniquely global perspective on this integration. This series is suitable for:
-
Individuals currently navigating a cancer diagnosis.
-
Health professionals and carers looking to expand their holistic knowledge.
-
Anyone interested in the intersection of traditional and modern medicine.
About Dr Graham Pinn
Dr Pinn trained at Charing Cross Hospital in London before building a distinguished career across multiple health systems. He later served as a Consultant Physician at Nambour Hospital on the Sunshine Coast and practiced medicine across the Middle East, New Zealand, and the South Pacific.
His clinical interests include gastroenterology, cardiology, and traditional medicine. Dr Pinn is a prolific contributor to medical literature, having authored 43 published articles and a specialized textbook on herbal medicine for medical practitioners. His wealth of knowledge and compassionate delivery have made his talk series highly regarded by community educational groups.
